We are in a beautiful location at Lykorema, just 1 km from the beach and 1 hour from the port of Rafina, between Marmari and Karystos.
The beautiful Marmari is considered one of the jewels of coastal southern Evia, named from its excellent quality and coloring marble that is quarried nearby. Modern Karystos is a beautiful coastal city with a modern layout and several tourist facilities, ready to welcome and satisfy guests. From most points of Karystos visitors can see the beautiful castle that crowns the city, the famous Red Castle (Castelo - Rosso). The castle was built in 1205 by the Latins, after the conquest of Evia. It was built where there was an ancient acropolis of Karystos. In the central part of the coastal road, in the city of Karystos by the sea, rises the imposing 2-storey Mpourtzi fort, built by the Venetians during the 13th century and preserved in excellent condition. During the summer months, there are photo exhibitions, art exhibitions and poetry evenings. Opposite Mpourtzi in a beautiful square, is housed the "Giokaleio Cultural Foundation" which, as well as the great library (11,000 volumes), it houses an archaeological collection of finds from the drakospita.
"Karystian House" is the Folklore Collection CH.V. Deligiorgi, that shows us a home from the past.
"Marmari House”: Women's Association of Marmari at Marmari’s beach.
"The drakospito of Oxi" is built at an altitude of 1440 m. Marvel at how the building materials made it up there, especially at a time when there appears to be no other explanations as to how our virtuous ancestors, other than being supernatural creatures or perhaps they used "dragons". Today's architects and engineers are left speechless, not only at the physical strength used but at the power of the mind and the power to invent ways to transport the materials up there.
"Cave of Ag. Triada" is a giant marble slab of rocky hill 50 m from Agia Triada. It is one of the most interesting caves in Europe with many speleological treasures. From its bowels flows a river and directed to Rouklia. In the process, forming small lakes and waterfalls, one of which is the largest underground waterfall in Greek cave.
"Kolones": It was an ancient quarry of South Karystia, there were manufactured columns (from the famous Karystian marble) that traveled by sea to the most glorious cities of the ancient world.
Beaches - The whole bay facing the southern Evia is filled with beaches with crystal clear waters. Some of them are organized and some are isolated, satisfying all tastes. We mention the most famous ones such as "Galida", "Psili Ammos", "Agia Paraskevi", "Fygias", "Megali Ammos", "Bouros”, “Potami”, “Lykorema", "Agios Dimitrios", "Kallianou" and there are many more that anyone would feel like it is heaven on earth.
In South Karystia there are many local foods made by people with a passion for what they do. Such dishes are kourkoubines, pie with wild greens and fresh cheese , touloumotyri , thick paspala, lamb vouloto etc.
You can enjoy all these in our tavern or in the traditional seaside taverns of the town.
The Islands of Petalioi, a total of 10 islands, 6 of which are small islets mini are accessible via cruises that are organized from Karystos.
From Platanistos, via a good dirt road, a 8 km beautiful ride by car that is beyond any description you can visit a beautiful beach called "potami", lapped from the Aegean offering you crystal clear waters to swim.
Styra - Armyropotamos : 30 min from Marmari is Styra , another beautiful coastal town, and Almiropotamos equally handsome and traditional Evian town.
